Summer 2019 – Our World, Our Society

Wednesdays, 10 July to 14 August 2019

10:00 AM to 12:00 noon

Peer-Led Learning is a series of small-group workshops whose participants meet weekly to discuss and debate a chosen subject.

The theme for Summer 2019 is Our World, Our Society.

Participants are encouraged (not required) to present on any topic of interest and discussion will follow. We have room for 20 people to join us.

Suggested topics

Week 1 – July 10           Our Canadian North, Strong and Free – or is it?

Week 2 – July 17           Cyber security and what it means to you

Week 3 – July 24           50th anniversary of the landing on the moon –

                                         How this changed our world and society

                                         What other epic event of the past 50 years had

                                         an  impact on your life? Everyone to share

Week 4 – July 31          Can we revive empathy in our selfish world?

Week 5 – August 7      Our Canadian federation – Where are we going?

Week 6 – August 14    To be announced

We can accommodate any changes as long as the presenter notifies everyone in advance. Presenters and topics will be finalized at the first meeting on July 10.
